LLA I, Laboratory Lubricant Analyst – Video on Demand Class
MRG Lab’s LLA I training covers the body of knowledge set forth by the International Council of Machine Lubrication (ICML).
This course will outline sample handling, cleanliness and contaminant re-suspension. Additionally, it will focus on the 16 types of lubricant health monitoring tests and their ASTM standards, reagent management and chemical handling, and equipment and glassware cleaning and preparation.
The purpose for the Level II LLA certification is to verify that laboratory personnel from both commercial oil analysis labs and private in-house labs practicing in the field of lube oil analysis as it is applied to machinery condition monitoring and maintenance, are qualified to perform sample analysis and interpretation.
By the end of this class, students should be able to set-up routine testing schedules and test slates, verify calibration of laboratory instruments, recognize all forms of lubricant contamination and be able to undertake all associate test methods. Additionally, students will be able to recognize data that is different from the norm, diagnose lubricant failure mechanisms and modes, perform wear particle testing and basic analysis, customize tests and perform sample analysis and interpretation to report results, demonstrate advanced quality knowledge (ISO/IEC 17025), and provide guidance and supervision to category one personnel.

The purpose for the Level II Laboratory Lubricant Analyst (LLA) certification is to verify that laboratory personnel from both commercial oil analysis labs and private in-house labs practicing in the field of lube oil analysis as it is applied to machinery condition monitoring and maintenance, are qualified to perform sample analysis and interpretation, being able to:

MLA/MLT Level I Training – Video On Demand Class
This course will help prepare the attendee for either the Level 1 Machine Lubricant Analyst™ (MLA1) or the Machinery Lubrication Technician™ (MLT1) certification exams. The course will focus on proper greasing, oil lubrication methods, selection of proper lubricants, maintenance strategies, and all aspects of the ICML MLT-I Body of Knowledge. The MLA-I adds elements of oil and grease sampling and analysis, and setting up and maintaining a lubricant analysis laboratory or lab provider relationship. The course covers both Bodies of Knowledge, with significant overlap of MLT-I and MLA-I.

Machinery Lubrication Engineer (MLE) Workshop – Video On Demand Class
This workshop will help prepare the attendee for the Machinery Lubrication Engineer certification exam. This will review the body of knowledge for MLE, including elements such as asset management, machine reliability and maintenance strategies, tribology, friction, wear and lubrication fundamentals, achieving optimum reliability from machinery, common job and task-based skills for lubrication engineers, risk management, root cause analysis and troubleshooting, managing waste and environmental compliance, and much more.
This workshop is not meant to be a comprehensive prep course for the MLE, but experienced individuals may find this workshop helpful in reviewing and preparing to take this exam.
Candidates must have at least 5 years of education (post-secondary) or on-the-job training in one or more of the following fields: engineering, mechanical maintenance, maintenance trades, lubrication, oil analysis and/or condition monitoring (mechanical machinery). There is no training component requirement to take this exam.
